Schattehouse Build

You just can't believe the progress!  It actually looks like a house with the framing up and the roof going on.  HVAC is in as are the water heaters and furnace.  The fireplace is in and the master shower is beginning to make progress.  There are even stairs to go up to see the upstairs!  It's going a little slower now that the crews are on holiday, but I can't wait to see what is next.

Best news!  SUNSHINE! No rain is in the forecast for the week - at the least.  Phew.  They got the plumbing rough in done and the fill dirt has been covered with the sheets of plastic.  Plus, we got to meet some new neighbors.  Their home is at about the same stage, so we'll be moving in around the same time, most likely!  Very exciting news.  We should have a foundation in the next week or so.  Woohoo!

Rain, rain, go away!  No, we really do need the rain, but lots of rain means no foundation.  It's a mud pit out there right now. Just two days of dry weather in a row would make all the difference.  Then the rain can come back!

Progress!  Forms are going up now.  We can now see exactly where the house sits on the lot and the shape of the yard.  We were pretty surprised to see how large the foundation is, but that's what you get with a one-story home.  We will just have to do some creative landscaping as our backyard is very steep. One funny thing though or not so funny - the developer put our backyard property line fence in the wrong place - according to the surveyor.  So, they'll have to get that moved to the proper place.  We'd never have known.  We're thankful for the survey!!

Not much progress to report while we've been out of town.  There is power though!  And the forms are going up on the house across the street, so not too much longer before we see action.
